Expertly rendered this little Halopeau mold measures about 16 ½ tall. Her bisque head is perfect, very pale bisque with rosy cheeks, an open/close mouth, feathered brows, purple eye shadow and bulging blue paperweight glass eyes with lots of tiny painted lashes. She represents the antique Halopeau perfectly. She is well strung and her head moves fine and holds a pose fine, she. Is on an appropriate French type articulating body with straight wrists and saggy bottom.
The all of her is in excellent condition without any issue. She is wearing a white cotton dress with tiny lace, Juliette sleeves and angel type collar. Under it she has on a vintage stiff half-slip and white pantaloons that are pinned. The pretty dress is cotton with tiny lace trim in the front and along the'wings' and edges of the Juliette sleeves. Its long and angelic looking and covers her bare feet. She has on a antique wig that has come apart in the middle back from the weight of the braid but a bobby pin and netting keep it up and in place and it is in keeping with her innocent look. It is very old wig and came off a doll from the 1880s. I have gently washed it, the cardboard pate is attached, it feels like human hair. A cute little crocheted baby bonnet with blue ribbon holds it all nicely in place and adds to her innocence and charm. The artist initials are inked on the back of her head with the date 1988 with mold impression H 3. She would make a wonderful addition to any doll collection, especially for someone who loves antique French dolls but without the high price tag that an original H doll would command.
