Izannah Walker artist doll, handmade doll, cloth doll, antique doll reproduction

This doll is made in Izannah Walker technology of pressed cloth head, she is 15 2/3 tall. Her head was made in the mold, which I created, covered in fine cotton stockinette and painted with professional oil paints.

Her body is linen, filled with Excelsior (thin wooden sawdust, like antique teddies were filled with), her arms and legs are sewn of antique handspun linen, filled with new wool and painted with artist oil paints. The "second skin" is made of antique cotton and linen metis fabric (with all stains it had). To make this doll more authentic, I used antique fabrics where it was possible. The doll was painted and then aged to look old and used.

It is pleasantly heavy because of the filling. Her dress is cotton with antique white organdy and hand-embroidered collar. I hope it is clear from the pictures that the doll can not stand by itself, it needs a doll stand. It took me more than a week to make this doll, it is a very time-consuming process, but I enjoyed making it. Still, I leave a pleasure of giving her a name to her new owner.
