Born in Plainville, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Anne (Brunette) Coyne. For over 30 years Ms. Reed, a self-taught fiber artist, had been creating one of a kind sculptural as well as functional works of art and jewelry. These works have been shown through retail craft and art venues and galleries throughout the country.
In 1986 she received the distinction of "Master Craftsman" from the Society of Connecticut Craftsmen and has won numerous awards for her original designs. In addition to retail shows, Ms. Reed has also exhibited in numerous juried national exhibitions including two Smithsonian traveling exhibitions, which traveled to South America, Africa and throughout the United States.+ Please view the photos carefully.
