Vintage Charleen Kinser Tom's Toad #166 numbered and signed - handmade in 1981- cottage industry - he's cute, bumpy and has great eyes! Leather or pig skin I'm not certain but there's cracking and crackling on the tops of his eyes and his back left leg from the sun, sitting on my guest room bed for years. He measures: 13" across back legs when sitting x 9 " high x 13" front to back when sitting - if you stretch him out he's 21" tip of nose to toes, on his back. Please check all photos for condition issues and ask any questions.

Time to thin things out now so I'm hoping maybe you have a good home for him. I haven't seen any like him available anywhere. From 1977 until 2001, Charleen Kinser Designs was a small group of artisans working with master designer Charleen Kinser making limited editions of small toys, or soft sculpture, as some call these creations. In 2001, Charleen went solo, as CK Limited. Our leather creatures, including, Gnome Tom Griswold (deerskin), Sweetcakes and the trolls, and all toads and frog (pigskin), should not be cleaned.

The best treatment for their "skin" is to be handled a lot, as you would a wallet! If they dry out with age, a product we believe is called Apple Polishes will help refurbish them. Condition: clean - good condition - no tears - leather has some crackling to eye tops and back left leg top from sun but overall leather is still supple and clean except for 2 stains, 1 under chin, 1 small one under leg - see all photos - from my smoke-free home.
