Original Doll by NIADA Artist Norma Mellen, Adorable Boy with a Hobby Horse. This is an original, one of a kind doll created by NIADA Artist Norman Mellen. The adorable boy is riding his hobby horse and dressed as a cowboy! He is made of cloth. Features are needle sculpted and skillfully painted.

His face shows such joy and you can almost hearing him yelling giddy-up! This boy has beautiful brown eyes and brown hair. He wears a plaid flannel shirt and denim jeans which have grass stains at the knees.

Of course he proudly wears a tan cowboy hat on his head, tan boots & matching belt. The base is covered with a material simulating grass. It has a metal peg and one of the doll's legs slides over it. The hobby horse is also hand made by Norma Mellen out of gray felt. Every part of this doll is beautifully made.

Norma became an artist member of NIADA (The National Institute of American Doll Artists) in 1979. This doll was made around that time, or in the early 1980s. Many of her dolls depicted children at play. He is in excellent condition, with no damages or repairs.
