I Raku-pottery Art by Mary Anderson. ONE OF A KIND- pottery art in flawless Condition, done with amazing Technic by Mary Anderson.

Approx 6.5" wide and 3" tall. Let me tell you a little bit about her magic. Mary Anderson is an exhibiting member of ACGA, the Association of Clay and Glass Artists of California. She works in stoneware and porcelain, firing in gas and wood kilns. Her work is in the form of a vessel, whether a cup, mug, jar or vase, but presented as the foundation for a sculptural element inspired by the natural world. She thinks of the image - the twining of octopus arms, a plunging salmon, or an inquisitive lizard - as the animas of the piece.

The pots are carved and often shaped so the image grows from the body of the vessel in a fluid, dynamic way. And with the final touch, the application of the eyes, the soul is expressed. She has studied ceramics at Cal State LA, Columbia College, and Northern Arizona University, along with various workshops focusing on specific firing techniques. Her works clearly reflecting this. Besides exhibiting at the Petroglyphe Gallery and School Street Gallery in Lodi, she also participates in a number of shows throughout Northern California.

Her studio is in Arnold CA within the pine forest where she devotes her time to a large garden and her ceramic work.
