ALEXANDRA KOUKINOVA'S Russian Sculpture Art Doll "Princess Mary" This is the heroine of Lermontov's tale From the novel " Hero of our Time " written by Yuri Mikhailovich Lermontov. She not only a stunning doll but a true work of art. Princess Mary is very rare. There were only 25 of her handmade by the artist herself. This doll is number 16. All fine materials were used to create this stunning doll sculpture. She was made from biscuit porcelain.

This is an amazing piece of art. Alexandra pays attention to every detail keeping her beautiful dolls historically accurate. Princess Mary is dressed in an authentic handmade Chinese silk dress.

The collar and cuffs are in antique laces and beads as are other parts of the outfit. The shoes and heels are decorated with antique lace and beads. The frame of the hat (Kibitka) is decorated with lace as well. She also comes with a beautiful matching parasol.

This Princess Mary is number 16 in a series of 25 and was created in the year 2000. She is hand painted and stands 23.5 tall. She has a dark brown mohair wig made by a professional wig maker. Princess Mary is in excellent condition except for 1 flaw, She is missing her thumb on her right hand.

I think this can be repaired by a doll restorer. She comes with her wooden stand.
