Vintage Dianne Dengel American Artist Cloth OOAK Dolls 1986 Mother & Baby Pair. Unveiling a Legacy: The Lorraine Doll Collection. Over the next three days, Monday, April 22nd through Wednesday, April 24th, we are honored to present the cherished large-scale collection of Lorraine Roffman, a passionate New Jersey-based art doll enthusiast.

Over the course of four decades, Lorraine meticulously built a museum-quality doll gallery in her home, filled with one-of-a-kind, hand-sculpted art dolls. A dedicated collector, Lorraine attended doll shows around the country.

She was drawn to expressive dolls that seemed to hold unique stories within their gaze. Each doll was carefully chosen, a testament to her discerning eye and love for the artistry.

With the help of an in-home caretaker, Lorraine meticulously cared for her collection, ensuring their perfect preservation. Fulfilling Lorraine's final wish, this collection is now offered to new collectors who share her appreciation for the art and wonder of these exceptional dolls. Ranging in size from 6" to 36" masterpieces, these works of art are crafted from hand-sculpted clay, porcelain or fabric. Each piece represents a chance to own a unique treasure, imbued with Lorraine's passion and ready to find a new place of love and appreciation.

This is a pair of FABULOUSLY DETAILED, vintage, one-of-a-kind artist character dolls portraying a loving South American style mother and her little baby! They are wonderful masterpieces that were created by American cloth doll artist, Dianne Dengel. She is also well recognized as an oil paint artist. Dianne Dengel formed her exquisite dolls with soft cloth stockinette, then hand painted each one with oil paints so that the fabric stiffened in the process, thus creating a true piece of art.

This pair was made back in 1986. The mother measures 12" tall, seated (measured from her bottom to her head), while baby is 8" long.

The mother has a joyful expression on her face, revealing her teeth. She and baby have a medium, caramel complexion and are wigged in jet black hair. Mom is wearing a cream blouse and pants, a yellow floral skirt, an ethnic bracelet and necklaces, and sandals. Her baby is wearing a yellow gingham top and blue striped shorts.
